The Survey trig on Lake Austin Hill has historic significance for its association with early exploration and surveying in the Cue district. It also has considerable landmark value.
This dry stone cairn, located on a hill overlooking Lake Austin, is made of local stone. A rough track leads up the west side of the hill from the Great Northern Highway to the stone cairn.
