Statement of Significance

The building forms part of the remnant building stock which make up the historic town's fabric.

Physical Description

Single-storey weatherboard and iron residence c.1910. Features include hipped roof, bullnose verandah on two sides and decorative timber fretwork. External joinery and internal details are in near original condition.

The internal layout consists of a central hall, three bedrooms, dining, lounge, kitchen and bathroom opening off this hall. All four panel doors are in excellent condition.

History

Built for Male family who had early connections with pearling out of Broome. This residence was lifted and re-stumped in early 1980s. Due to the heavy clay soil the whole residence had dropped and only the outer verandahs and posts were at the original level.
