Statement of Significance

The place is important as part of the significant development that took place in Capel in the 1950s.

Physical Description

Timber framed and asbestos clad building with a gable roof and boxed canopy verandah supported by metal posts.

History

In 1956, the estate of F. H. Turner applied for a building license for works to the shop. Henry Turner had previously operated the first Capel butchers shop next to Higginson's bakery (Mrs Higginson nee Turner- her dad??) The place still operates as Capel Butchers.
