This house was built by Susannah Peacock when she retired from Rockwell Farm following the marriage of George and Vera Peacock. George, her son, purchased Rockwell Farm from his parents when he left the Royal Australian Navy in 1920. Susannah Peacock was a very influential member of the Cranbrook community. She was a successful businesswoman and also contributed her services as a midwife to the women of the district. Her son Harold lived in the house in Climie Street in the 1930s and ran a shoe repair business on the premises. Refer to Place Record Form No 15.
The home of Susannah Peacock has walls and roof of corrugated iron. It has wooden framed windows and a small semi enclosed front porch. There is some evidence of external modifications.
