The place represents a commercial enterprise which was a milestone in the development o* the Lake Grace town.
Brick frontage with the remaining building clad with vertical profile fibro cement sheeting.
The shop frontage has a cantilevered boxed canopy across the front.
Opened in October 1968, by the General Manager of Associated Groceries, Jack Martin, it was praised as one of the biggest and best supermarkets in rural Western Australia. As early as 1960, Edwards introduced a new deep freeze system in his original store, which was seen as very innovative. In 1963, Edwards and Milverton had purchased the local newsagency, and incorporated it into their existing grocery and drapery store, after moving the groceries to this shop. It was an expansion of their business interests in Lake Grace
