The place represents commercial development in Lake Biddy.
During the railway construction Doug Broadley built a corrugated iron tent structure at the railway siding. Parish and Netherway took it over in 1923, and E Thackrah in 1925. Later he built a shop and residence in the main street, which was subsequently destroyed by fire and rebuilt.
In 1926 after the railway came through Lake Biddy and a store was established. The Lake Biddy siding was a busy place in the 1920s and 1930s and the new settlers moved through on their way to new land at Lake Varley, Lake Carmody and the Holt Rock areas.
The store was always the Post office and ran agencies.
