Statement of Significance

This place has historic, social and aesthetic heritage significance.
The Denmark Agricultural College was first established in 1942 at State Farm. It was set up in response to the comandeering of Narrogin Agricultural School for war purposes. However, when Narrogin Agricultural School re-opened, Denmark continued the agricultural education of aspiring young farmers by building their own facilities which were opened on 27th February 1947. The college was built to accommodate approximately 40 students in two year courses. Hundreds of boys (and laterly some girls) have studied agricultural subjects, played sports and socialised in the Denmark community. In 2010 the college has a student population of 90, most of whom live in as they come from many places throughout Australia.

The site marks the east entrance to the Denmark townsite on South Coast Highway and is surrounded by reticulated gardens. A recently added large steel canopy over a sports court mars the appearance of the College to the Highway.
