The building is significant due to its association with postal communications and also for
its linkage with pioneering families.
The last site for the Woodanilling manual telephone exchange was in the eastern portion
of the Post Office building opposite the hall fronting Robinson Road.
The access door is on the west of the building.
The sites of the Woodanilling telephone manual exchange is likely to have been parallel
with postal facilities - with possibly the room adjoining Richardson's store the first. It is
recorded that there was a public phone box outside this site at least as early as 1916.
