Category 4

A place of some significance. This category encompasses those places of significance and in some cases of real heritage value and of great importance to the understanding of the district but not realistic to offer any protection and not to be listed under the Town Planning Scheme. History

In 1944 the Koorda Road Board, as it was then, decided to construct Sheep Dips at Kularin, Samphire and Mollerin, sharing the cost with the Agricultural Bank. The Board covered the cost of labour and materials and building the holding yards and the Agricultural Bank the trough and pipes. Sheep Dips were later built at Lake Margarette and Narkal and approved for Kulja. They were all built near an existing source of water. These were a community facility and used by many of the surrounding farmers.
They were all gazetted reserves in the 1950's and are now vested in the Shire of Koorda.
