Physical Description

The church is located adjacent to the street frontage on the northern side of a large, open allotment. It was designed with a rectangular floor plan and an enclosed, projecting entry porch. The walls are constructed of random stone with brick quoins and reveals, terracotta wall vents, plain rendered window sills and 2 plain rendered pilasters to each of the side walls. The roof is clad with corrugated iron (painted red) with gable ends to the porch and principal façade and a gabled hip to the rear. The main gable features a circular vent with a rendered cross and the rear hip has timber louvres. There are 3 pointed arch windows to each of the sidewalls and a single pointed arch window to the front of the porch. Each of these has ripple glass, with 2 panes to the arch and four panes to the main section of the window. At the rear of the church a more recent skillion addition has been built using random stone and brick quoins to complement the original. A detached timber frame and fibrous cement toilet block has been constructed behind the church. The remainder of the block is vacant with scattered plantings of native trees.

History

Originally a Methodist church. The site originally also contained a church hall and
manse which have subsequently been demolished.
