Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical timber framed single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area.
Single storey timber framed and weatherboard clad walls and a zincalume hipped and prominent gable roofed house. The roof has a chimney with corbelling and the dropped verandah has timber posts, brackets and balustrades.The following places form a significant group and contribute to the streetscape of Samson Street; 23, 25, 26, 28, 31, 30, 32, 34, 35, 41, 43, 45, 49, 51, 55, 57, 59, 61, and the Norfolk Pines.
A cottage is recorded on lot 36 of 29 in 1910/11.
