Statement of Significance

The site is significant due to its association with the development of the town of Woodanilling.

Physical Description

Located to the east of the Boyerine Creek in the valley adjacent. The excavation of about 1000 cubic yards is tree lined with casuarinas. Some silting has occurred and a fallen tree
is on the eastern edge. The water is now brackish/saline.

History

Before the construction of this dam, water was obtained for the town from soaks and wells.
The site here was not satisfactory and another dam was built north of the town along Burt Road.
