The place is a representative example of the architectural improvisation of structures built to accommodate miners. The place has historic value for its representation of the development of die Australian goldfields and associated social conditions for miners. The place is historically significant for its relationship with mining operations that took place at Gwalia between 1898-1963, one of the most productive goldmines outside Kalgoorlie.
The dwelling has a gabled roof with enclosed verandahs with lean-to roofs across the front and rear elevations. The dwelling was surrounded by gardens that were fenced. The dwelling is now unoccupied and the gardens unattended. Steel framing is all that remains of the fence.
