Statement of Significance

The building is a representative example of a simple cottage built at the turn-of-the-century.

The place, for its building form and characteristics of its class, makes a positive contribution to the streetscape and townscape of Kalgoorlie.

Physical Description

The simple cottage is asymmetrical with a doorway and single window. The building is one room wide and has a passage along the length of one wall.

A verandah has been added across the facade protected by a lean-to roof covered with corrugated galvanised iron. The verandah has been enclosed along its length, and the exterior of the building has been reclad. The carved, decorative barge board is likely to be replacement fabric. The building appears to have been extended at the rear.
