The place demonstrates associations with pioneers and the agricultural activity of the region.
Double storey brick construction.
EHB Lefroy had a large influence on farming practices in the 1930's. He was one of the people instrumental to visit of Dutch Professor AL Hagedoorn and late Sir John Hammond an English lamb production expert. In 1939, he brought Mules form South Australia to demonstrate Mules technique (first farm was Cranmore Park). Aided by GT Throssel, the district agricultural advisor, he encouraged the CSIRO to research Mulesing. He was on the state committee of the CSIRO 1930 to 1943, chairman 1934 to 1943. Late HG (Jack) Neil of the Agriculture department, was instrumental in arranging for gangs of men being taught the procedure. Subterranean clover was introduced at Cranmore Park in 1936, and Lefroy's experiments with grasses led to the formation of the Miling Pasture Improvement Group. In 1939, GL Throssel became Moora's first resident Agricultural Officer. In 1941, Ranfurly Park ran experiments under the direction of the Ag Dept. Isbister experimented with trace elements and was assisted from 1948 by HG Neil fromt the Ag Dept Beverly office who moved to Moora in 1950. In 1955, Lefory was knighted for his services to agriculture. Bulk handling experiments 1931 & 1932 to reduce costs - Thompson bulk loads. Plans for the new administration building wee first mooted in 1971 and the building was finally opened on 20th February 1974. The forme Ag Dept building was built during /world War II to house the officer for POW distribution. That building was taken over by the Water Supply.
