Significant but not essential to an understanding of the history of the district: photographically recorded prior to any major redevelopment or demolition.

Statement of Significance

The pool is significant in the development of the pastoral industry and also for its
association with pioneering families.

Physical Description

A pool that was situated on the Boyerine Creek behind the blacksmith works in which
vicinity a shepherd's hut and sheep yards once stood was not located during this research.

History

The pool was used for William Andrews' sheep from his Moojebing run. The shepherd's
hut was used by George Evans who was a shepherd working for Andrews in the era
before the land was surveyed.

Andrews had another wash pool in the district at Moojebing (Katanning Shire) near
where the townsite was later surveyed on the property later selected (1892) by John Day
in Trimmer Road.
