Statement of Significance

The place has aesthetic value for its use of classical architectural detailing in pleasing proportions which creates visual interest. The place forms a valuable contribution to Hannan Street.

Physical Description

A small single-storey stone and stucco building built to the building line of Hannan Street. The feature of the exterior of the building is the rendered street elevation enhanced by a rendered parapet. The parapet features an emblem in the form of a shield which bares the name 'Chamber of Commerce Building'.

A bullnosed verandah roof, supported by slender posts with decorative iron brackets, extends across the facade over the pavement.

History

The Chamber of Commerce is now located in new premises in Egan Street, Kalgoorlie. The date the building ceased operating for use as the Chamber of Commerce from this site in Hannan Street is unknown.
