Physical Description

House, 110 Holland Street is a single storey painted tuck pointed brick and Zincalume hipped and gabled roof asymmetrical house. There is a chimney with corbelling and a bull nosed verandah supported by turned timber posts and brackets. The timber double hung sash windows have decorative rendered skirts.

History

Twelve houses Holland Street (Nos. 90-112) were all built by 1902.
Lot 1145 is recorded with a weatherboard cottage in 1900. The owner/occupier was David Riddett, a Hawker. In 1912 the new occupant was Robert Cusack. In 1949 the resident was a Miss A Cusack (when post office directory records cease).
The 1914 Sewerage Plan (No 2118) shows that the house was brick. (The Rate Books could have recorded an error, or the house may have been rebuilt. Regardless, the house dates from the first decade of the twentieth century.)
Numbers were allocated in 1905. The house was originally number 185 and became number 110 when the whole street was renumbered in 1937.
Aerial photos show that between 1985 and 1985 the house was extended at the rear.
