It is a reminder of the former way of life in suburban East Fremantle when bread was made locally by a number of small bakeries and delivered door-to-door and demonstrates the development of East Fremantle as it was one of the original commercial premises in the area. It contributes to the streetscape and is part of a collection of heritage places in East Fremantle.
