Statement of Significance
The railway line was opened through Dangin in 1908, and changed the way of handling grain and sheep. In the early 1930s Co-operative Bulk Handling Ltd was formed after many years of investigation by the government. Financed by the Wheat Pool of Western Australia and the Westralian Farmers Ltd, the CBH provided economical wheat storage bins to introduce an element of stability into the fluctuating grain handling business. In 1935 bulk handling was introduced in Dangin as it had been systematically throughout the wheatbelt since 1932. In 1934 a cricket match was held in the newly completed bin prior to becoming operational. In 1936, Frank Treloar's depressed air bag loader further assisted the bulk handling processes. In 1980 the weighbridge was closed, followed by the bin when the grain had been completely despatched.
