Physical Description

Ornate rendered stone and brick facade of former building destroyed in fire. Part of the group of buildings of Lionel Sampson & Co. The oldest existing firm of merchants in the state. Facade only remains of this single storey stuccoed commercial building. A straightforward building with a variety of opening sizes giving pattern to arched facade. Simple cornice lines to the parapet are neatly contrasted with florid ornamentation to the pediment. The architectural purity has been somewhat lost since all openings have vbeen conreted up and the facade stands alone.
