Statement of Significance

Building forms part of remnant building stock which makes up historic town's fabric. The use of a cavity wall on a cottage of this period is rare. It is of interest both historically and architecturally.

Physical Description

Early single-storey brick and iron cottage c.1860. Features include two tone Flemish bond brickwork built using local clay bricks. Cottage is in near original condition with its concave front verandah line and 12 pane sash windows. Western side is a cavity wall which is very rare in this period. Generally, cavity walls were not used very much prior to the 20th century.
