The former Headmaster's House has some significance as one of the few remaining remnants of the Caron Townsite.
Located in the Caron Townsite, the former Headmaster's House is a timber framed building clad with weatherboards. The corrugated iron gable roof extends to cover the front verandah which is partly enclosed with shadecloth. There is a leanto roof to the rear. The house has two corbelled brick chimneys. The front facade has timber framed casement windows with small panes while some windows to other elevations have been replaced with aluminium framing. There are several kurrojong trees in the garden.
The town of Caron emerged as the main railway centre because of its good natural water catchment area. A school was established in Caron in 1925. The school building was transported from Bilya Rock. This house is believed to have been the Headmaster's House.
