One of the simple timber cottages built in the townsite for the accommodation of workers at the workshops.
The houses were built predominantly by the company which owned and managed the town, Millar's Timber and Trading Company from the 1890s to the 1970s. The materials for the cottages were likely to have been manufactured in the workshop and local tradesmen built the homes to a standard design.
This residence was previously used as a boarding house with the managers at different times being Messrs Stewart, Tippett and Oldham.
All the buildings were destroyed in the January 2016 Yarloop/Harvey/Waroona fire. The chimneys were left standing however has since been deemed structurally unsound and was removed.
