Statement of Significance
The building has aesthetic value for its contribution to the streetscape of Stirling Terrace. The building has historic value as a good example of a dwelling constructed in the 1870's and is a relatively rare example in the northern end of Stirling Terrace. The building has social value as a demonstration of the way of life in Toodyay in the 19th century.
Physical Description
A painted brick and iron structure with half hipped and gabled roof. Timber framed sash windows of the 6-over6 pane style. Turned timber verandah posts with filigree iron brackets enclosed with timber picket fence.
History
Physical evidence indicates that this building was constructed in the 1870's as a residence although no documentary evidence was found to support this finding.
