The Nungarin Railway Water Tank Site has historus significance as part of the Railway Precinct, and as an acknowledgment of the role played by the West Australian Government Raiwlays in the develpment of the town and district.
The Railway Precinct incorporates the STation Sire, the Railway Crane, and the foundations of the water tank.
The first train arrived in Nungarin on 28th August 1911. The line was constructed as an agricultural light line at a cost of £1000 per mile.
The station was closed on 30th June, 1973. The station building was sold and relocated to Mussell Pool at Whiteman Park.
