The Nannup Hospital is significant to the development of the town of Nannup and to the local community.
The building was originally constructed in jarrah weatherboard and iron. Numerous extensions have been carried out over the years. These can be traced through Public Works Department records.
The Nannup Hospital was officially opened on 10th October 1925 by the Minister for Health Mr Norm Baxter. The hospital is believed to have been operating for at least eighteen months before the official opening. The first resident doctor was Dr Andrews who was doctor in Nannup from 1922 to 1934. Miss Addie Lindsay was the first matron. The hospital was built by Mr Clay and his son-in-law Mr Worthington. Although fire destroyed most of the hospital records, it is known that surgery was initially carried out in Dr Andrew's rooms in Warren Rd.
