Statement of Significance
Though the shop has some aesthetic and social value, it holds little significance for the community. The integrity and authenticity of the building has been compromised by extensive changes. It is recommended that if a development proposal is submitted that more work of a historical and photographic nature be done before demolition be allowed to proceed.
Physical Description
The shop has been built from a variety of construction fabrics. It has brick footings and timber walls. The corrugated iro roof has a wide pitched gable facade. The shop fits well in the streetscape with its small scale and domestic style design.
History
Little is known about the place and over the years of adaption for different purposes the original design has changed. With further renovation to become Chooks Fresh and Tasty, a chicken takeaway business, extensive changes have left the building with little remaining heritage integrity.
