The landmark Maritana Buildings are significant as a purpose-built commercial premises established by the Anglican Church to help it be financially self-sufficient.
The Federation Free Style Maritana Buildings are a pair of semi-detached single-storey offices, located to the South-East of St John the Baptist Church, on the corner of Maritana and Brookman Streets. At the cornerpoint of the building is a singular cone-topped tower.
The Maritana Buildings, which are essentially highly decorative offices, were constructed in 1902 by the Anglican Church. Following the Gold Boom of the 1890s, the Anglican Church in Kalgoorlie built the landmark commercial buildings to take advantage the booming economy and help the church become financially self sufficient.
Good - roof is in poor condition and the rising damp is a problem
