This strainer post is significant in the history of the district in that it identifies the following:
1. The eastern boundary of Hassell's Nunijup lease.
2. A gate post for the road from Nunijup to Martigallup, as well as the road to Yeriminup.
3. It is close to where Jack Williams was thrown from his horse and killed.
This strainer post was on the eastern boundary of Hassell's lease at Nunijup. The wooden post, with a tin piece encasing on one side, is embedded in the ground. Little or no evidence of the wire fencing can be seen.
