Of historic significance as an example of one of the many shipwrecks that have taken place off the
Western Australian coast.

Physical Description

Elizabeth Shipwreck, offshore at Warton Street.
Remains of a 194 tonne wooden barque which was beached in a storm on 22 September 1839 shortly
after sailing from Fremantle. Located about 200 metres offshore in 2-3 metres of water, west of Victoria
Street Station, opposite Warton Street. Site excavated by WA Museum and relics now in collection and
on display.
